Commission......... a Special Friend

Caution!!!
picture overload......sorry but I wanted to show all the aspects of this card. It was a commission for a special friend card and it had to be different from all the designs I had done before, simply because I've made cards for this lady quite a few times. I'm delighted to say she loved it....phew!!!
I have used First Edition papers though out and  the images are from the fabulous Saturated Canary coloured with Copics.

Inside I have used a circle sentiment from LOTV and the butterfly is a Marianne Creatables die.

Flower from my stash and the metal corner is Wild Orchid Crafts, ribbon from Mei Flower

The Birthday Recipe stamp is from LOTV and the other verse is computer generated.

I've kept it quite simple as I didn't want to overpower the fabulous images. I've taken a liking to First Edition papers recently and have bought most of them...lol  they are so lovely and half are sparkly and the other half are double sided, great value !!
That's me for tonight hopefully I'll be back with more cards in a couple of days as I'm off work for a week and I'm planning some crafting time...........woohooo .. I would love to hear your opinions on this card as I've never done this design before and would value any comments you care to leave.

Thanks for popping in.......

60th Birthday and a Cruise.....

Hi! something a little different today.
I have been meaning to share this card all week but It's been a bit hectic around our house this week with Birthdays and other stuff going on.
This card was made for a lady celebrating her 60th Birthday this month. Her Husband , who is one of our Managers at work asked me to include pics of their Caribbean Cruise Ship the Emerald Princess as they will be on board on the 24th March which is his wife's birthday. They will be at the Port of St Thomas on the Virgin Islands.....Oooooo!! how lovely.!!

I must drop a few hints to my Hubby for next year...lol

I decided to add the pics in a flip down design and used a small closure at the bottom and a length of Organza ribbon at the top to secure. The papers are all from the First Edition 6x6 pack Summer Breeze. I thought they looked lovely an Tropical. I added a large flower made up of more Tropical colours and a used metal corners from Wild Orchid crafts. The number 60 is cut with a Sizzix die .

That's it really and I'm glad to say he was delighted with the card.

I'm off now to dream of Palm trees and and white sandy beaches ~~~~~*

Thanks for popping in....

Double fold.... Mother's Day

Hi, Thanks for visiting my blog today .

This is the first time I have used this double fold technique and I really like the effect. I'm always on the look out for new designs and shapes and you can put one of these cards together very easily. They are also great for using up scraps that you have left over from bigger sheets of paper.

The image is from LOTV ,front digi papers from Cuddly Buddly ,inside paper is First Edition, flowers are Prima, ribbons and Pearls from my stash. The sentiment and verse are computer generated.
