CHARISMA... NO DESIGNER PAPERS..ahhhh!!!!

The lovely Jan over at Charisma Cardz has set this weeks challenge and she would like you to create something without using designer papers........So lets see what you can come up with this week. Looking forward to all your crafty ideas.

This is my DT card for this weeks challenge. Another Christmas card......Yikes!!! Oh I wish it was Spring...lol. Only kidding I love Christmas really, just getting a bit bogged down with orders and I'm looking for some breathing space.
As you can see I kept it plain and simple with a knitted Christmas stocking, I didn't knit it by the way, I bought it...... I don't have the patience these days for knitting.....I've backed it on to silver Mirri card and added a few stars and a Poinsettia cut on my Robo.
Hope you like it and thanks for taking the time to visit. We have another fab prize this week for the winner and a DT spot for the second prize, So!!!!if you would like a shot a being a DT for Charisma enter this weeks challenge. You can't win it if you're not in it....... Happy crafting.

More Christmas cards.....

A Christmas card with a difference.
I made this card last year and never used it so It's made an appearance again this year. I was trying to find different ways of cutting cards and shaping them with Christmas in mind and came up with this cracker shape.
The whole design is peel offs. The centre piece is glitter snowflake peel offs stuck onto acetate and mounted up with silicone to make it 3D. I tied a white and gold ribbon round each side and added little red stars. A really simple design and could be made with any colour scheme. I decided on white gold and red. I know it has no designer papers or any fancy stuff on it but I like the simplicity of it.

************************************************

Another Christmas card made with WOJ Herb. I love this image and he's so easy and quick to colour. The DP is from Craft Creations, snowflakes are punches and ribbon is Dovecraft. The charm is from The Hobby House. Apologies for the picture quality. I tried every conceivable way of photographing it and still couldn't get the silver to stop reflecting the colours around it.
It has a kind of rainbow effect when you tilt it towards the light.
Thanks so much for all your lovely comments recently and I'm sorry if I haven't got back to visit everyone but between doing my cards for orders trying to get Christmas cards done and helping my Son Matt with his Ghostbuster's costume...Yes !!!!! and he's 23.....lol. He has a halloween party on Saturday and has made all four of the Proton packs for himself and his pals. He's done an amazing job of the outfits and he's really enjoyed doing it. I'll post pics of them all wearing them at the weekend. I'm off now to sew on the Ghostbuster patches onto the overalls, then I need to make a Witches outfit for myself for a Halloween Party Hubby & I have on Saturday too. Busy week ahead.............

Winter Wonderland...Shimmering Christmas......

Hi everyone!! hope you are enjoying the weekend. I have a Christmas card tonight to show you, this one is for my friend Dorothy. I followed Sketch # 12 over on Vee's Sketch Pad which is one of Elaine's layouts. I liked this one as soon as I saw it and have been dying to use it. I think it's a fab sketch and I know I will use it often.

I've embossed the panel with CB Snowflake folder and used my Sugar Nellie image Baubles I coloured it with Copics and used oval and circle nesties to mount it. The star charm is from the Hobby House and the snowflakes are all punches of various sizes. I have also covered the whole card with Perfect Pearls to give it a really Christmassy shimmer and then set it with Hair Spray. It totally transforms a plain white card. If you zoom in you may be able to see the fab shimmer. It's a very girly Christmas card....
I've just noticed that Winter Wonderland have an open theme this week so I've entered this card. You really should pop over to their blog and see the DT cards and projects for this week, they are absolutely stunning!!!
Hopefully I'll be back with more Christmas cards tomorrow. Thanks for popping in.

ALL WHITE... Colour Create plus 2 other challenges

A Christmas card for Colour Create tonight. I decided I need to get on with my Christmas cards this weekend and thought I'd do one all white for the this challenge. The only colour on the card is to be you image. I hope mine still counts as I've got a wee bit of Silver accent on it.

It also fits Stamp Something which is Bling!! and there's plenty of that on here and the

Secret Crafter Saturday challenge and they want you to use something old on your card. Well believe it or not everything on this card is last years Christmas stash with the exception of my new WOJ image. So definitely fits there.
I'm surprised it fits 3 challenges and pleased too. Not done that for ages...lol.

Delightful Daisies.... @ CHARISMA....

At Charisma Cardz this week the lovely Carly has set us the challenge called" Delightful Daisies"
So here is my DT card.
I used the masking technique for this one ,using WOJ Musing Melinda and Magnolia Big Daisy stamps to give the appearance of Melinda sitting on the daisy. The DP is K & Co and I also used Basil card punched with Martha Stewart Doilies. I punched out a couple of daises in different sizes inked the edges and embossed them with Swiss dots from CB. I don't think you can see it too well in this pic. I've added some Tulle left over from my Son & DIL Wedding ( 6 years ago..lol) just found it while looking for something else the other day, it was round all the pews in the church with balloons tied on. Looked lovely. Right back to the card... I've also added three daisy buttons and a little butterfly charm just to finish it off. Hope you like it, and thanks for popping in. Don't forget to visit Charisma for this weeks challenge and another fab prize.

Teeny Weeny Baby Shoes....2 Cards

Hi everyone hope you are all well this evening. Just a couple of baby cards to show you tonight. I did these last night for my friend Dorothy's Gran she asked if I could do two cards for her for a baby girl and Grandparents. Appologies for the quality of the pics I really need to buy a daylight bulb when taking pics at night. I'll put it on my wish list.
I found these teeny weeny shoes tucked away in a box, forgot I had them, and if memory serves me correct I bought them at the SSEC craft show in Glasgow many years ago, now I only have one blue and one pink left...lol.
I used FF images, various papers from my stash, Nesties, Daisy punches various sizes, and flower centres are bead caps from the Hobby House. Cuttlebug Swiss dots, cross grain and organza ribbons, and the images were coloured with Copics. I've made loads of Baby cards lately but I don't mind as I really enjoy doing them.
Both these cards fit the Creative Card Crew challenge this week which is BABIES...and Children
Thanks for stopping by don't forget to pop back tomorrow to see this weeks Charisma challenge and my DT card.

Time for a change......

Hi everyone thought I'd better let you all know that I've changed my blog name from
Busy bee-Vee... to ...Veronica's Designs (using my Sunday name...lol). Much more simple...I just got a bit fed up with the busy bee bit...lol. Hubby says no one will recognise me so I thought I'd better explain it. I've also changed the background and the header, gone blue for a change. Not sure if I like it yet so that may get changed again in the coming weeks. You would think I had nothing else to do....lol..
Got loads of cards to get done but I wanted to do this first. Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I never got much crafting done...again... but hopefully I'll make up for it tomorrow.

CHARISMA #41 HOW DISTRESSING.....

Good morning everyone it's Thursday again and another challenge from Charisma.

This week the lovely Karen has set the challenge and she wants us to get DISTRESSED.

Well I certainly did.......lol.....As I've never done this to my paper before, so I got quite stressed rubbing sandpaper over my new Wild Asparagus papers. They have a little distressing on them already but I wanted it to show a bit more so I set about them with a sand block from Hubby's toolkit......eeek!!! and this is the result.

As I don't have any distressing tools, I ran a serrated edge knife round the edges too then inked them with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distressing Ink. The flower is one of the handmade ones I did a few weeks ago and you can find the tutorial here. I've really surprised myself with this card as I didn't think I liked the distressed look but now that I've done it I really quite like it....lol...So it just shows you that you should always try something new even if it's not really your style.
I used the Friday Sketches layout. Thanks Karen for this challenge I really enjoyed it.

So why not get yourself all DISTRESSED and take part in this weeks challenge as always we have a fab prize for the lucky winner. Looking forward to seeing all your wonderful creations.

We've got a great challenge this week for you but I'm not telling you what it is, you'll have to wait and see. I can only say that I've never done this type of card before , but I really enjoyed making it......that's all I'm saying....lol

NOT PINK.....FF 60th Birthday

Good morning everyone hope the sun is shining wherever you are.
I really love this stamp from FF it's so versatile I use it a lot. I'm always being asked to do special birthdays and anniversary cards and it works really well for all of them. I decided I was a bit fed up doing Pink cards all the time and used this lovely pale turquoise paper instead. It's made by a company called Southfield the paper People. I got it in Miller's Art store in Glasgow . I only bought 2 A4 sheets and now I wish I had bought more. The dottie paper is from Craft Creations, flowers from Poppiecraft and the brads are Papermania. A wee change from Pink.........
Hope you have a lovely weekend and thanks for popping in.
While you're here... why not pop over to Vee's Sketch Pad and join in my challenge this week. I have a little prize on offer to celebrate 1000 hits.

Gretel for Dutch Dare....

Hi there, I've not been around much this weekend, had a night out on Sat and family over for dinner on Sunday and been trying to think of new ideas for Christmas cards. Not a lot of crafting being done I'm afraid. Still I hope to make up for it today.

This card is not for anyone in particular I just liked the nice Autum colours and the image of little Gretel from CC Designs. Isn't she cute!!. I coloured her with Copics and used K & Co papers. Ribbon is Laura Ashley, flowers from Poppicraft, and the punch is Fiskars. The only challenge I can find to fit here is Dutch Dare and they are looking for Charms on your card. The little bee charm came from Craft Creations. I'm off now to get a few Christmas cards done and try and get a new sketch uploaded to Vee's Sketch Pad sometime today. Have a lovely day.

My DT card for Charisma #39 DECOUPAGE

Well here we are late again!!....I just keep forgetting that I'm working on Thursdays now and I need to put my card up the night before.
I think I'll have to put a big sign up in front of me...lol The old grey matter aint what it used to be....I seem to be relying on post it notes these days to jog my memory...lol
Enough waffle on to the challenge.

This weeks Charisma challenge is being set by Joanne and she has asked us all to do DECOUPAGE...which is lucky for me 'cause I do loads of it all the time. My DT card this week is one I did for a girl in my work and I'm glad to say she was delighted with it. It's another Anniversary card, been doing loads of these lately but I don't mind 'cause I love doing them.

We have two prizes up for grabs this week so why not have a go at Decoupage this week. Have fun and thanks for stopping by.
